Teaching
I am ATLS instructor. I am a clinical supervisor for specialty trainees in the Newcastle Deanery. I teach them both trauma and elective knee surgery during the knee term on Monday afternoons.
I am a clinical and educational supervisor for foundation trainees. I am also a clinical supervisor for specialty trainees.
I teach 3rd and 4th year medical students every Wednesday morning as their educational tutor. I teach A & E trainees on one in 6 Thursdays. I teach foundation trainees on Friday afternoon.
I take turns to run the induction for the surgical foundation trainees.
I teach the GP’s through courses run by the RCGP twice a year.
I am a faculty for the regional FRCS (Tr & Orth) course.
In order to become a better teacher, I have completed the certificate of medical education at University of Newcastle.
